HP/inch 30; Hardness 15
Weapons made of Barada steel provide a +1 enhancement bonus on damage rolls, and are always considered to be masterwork weapons. They also have a natural ability to bypass hardness when sundering weapons or attacking objects, ignoring hardness less than 15. The enhancement bonus doesn’t stack with the enhancement bonus provided by a magic weapon.
Items without metal parts cannot be made from Barada steel. An arrow could be made of Barada steel, but a quarterstaff could not.
The secret to crafting Barada steel has been lost to the ages. It was only ever known to a single clan of dwarves who lived in Mt. Barada, in what is now Noriox. When duergar all but wiped out the Barada dwarves, they wiped out the secret as well. By the time the Gideon republic became an empire, Barada steel weapons were already seen as old and irreplaceable treasures. Only a handful still exist.
Barada steel swords can be distinguished by their slight bluish color, and by a pattern like rippling water on their blades.
